One of the few tea factories in Mauritius that are still in operation, the Bois Chéri tea factory and plantation are an integral part of the country’s identity. Bois Chéri white, black, and green Premium teas are of top-notch quality. The leaves are hand-picked and served with minimal processing, creating a pure and delicate product.

In addition to black tea, Bois Chéri also offers flavoured tea. Vanilla tea is made by adding the vanilla powder to tea, while other flavoured teas are made with natural essences.

Le thé vert doit son nom à la méthode de préparation qui consiste à empêcher l`oxydation excessive des feuilles de thé.
Celles-ci sont généralement cueillies à la main puis chauffées afin de stopper l`oxydation. C`est ainsi que les feuilles conservent leur belle couleur verte ainsi que leur bienfaits. 😌

Une fois les feuilles de thés cueillies, celles-ci sont disposées dans des sacs de pas plus de 10kg pour être transportées à l`usine. 🏭 Ces sacs sont accrochés sur un système de convoyage qui les mènera à l`étage où ils seront vidés de leur contenu sur un bac de flétrissage pour l`aération des feuilles.🍃

La fondation de l`usine de Bois Chéri à la fin du XIXème siècle a marqué un tournant significatif dans l`agriculture de l`île, en passant de la canne à sucre aux plantations de thés🍃 à la suite d`un cyclone qui ravagea les champs de canne. 🌪
Depuis, Bois Chéri ne cesse d`évoluer en proposant différentes saveurs de thés tout en restant profondément fidèle à son engagement concernant la qualité et la tradition. 😊
