À l`époque, les charpentiers construisaient les maisons coloniales en s`inspirant des travaux de charpenterie marine. Les toits étaient principalement conçus pour diminuer la chaleur des chambres et servaient de grenier pour le stockage de vieux meubles, livres 📖, vieilles malles 👜, mais pas de nourriture car cela attirait les rats. Notre grenier au Domaine, par exemple, possède une charpente réalisée à partir d`une ancienne coque de bateau. ⛵
