ZISTWAR DITÉ

Domaine de Bois Chéri, located in the highlands in the southern part of Mauritius, almost 500 meters above sea level, offers ideal climatic conditions for tea growing. As one of the oldest tea plantations on the island, Le Domaine de Bois Chéri offers “Zistwar Dité”, an exclusive adventure.

Follow in the footsteps of the tea pluckers through the fields, take part in the plucking activities and witness the tea-making process. A tea tasting session will be held at the Chalet du Domaine de Bois Chéri, overlooking Lac des Cygnes at the Domaine de Bois Chéri. A tea-based lunch is served at the Le Bois Chéri restaurant, which offers a panoramic view of the south-east coast of our island. Come and experience a unique and immersive moment.
PROGRAM
Stage 1 - 9:00 a.m.

  • Reception upon arrival at Domaine Bois Chéri museum

  • Briefing on the day’s programme

  • Mauritian breakfast in the Kiosk

Step 3 - 10:00 a.m.

  • After the tea picking experience, you will head to the factory where all the baskets are weighed and the tea leaves checked

  • Visit of the tea factory and museum

Step 4 - 11.15 a.m.

  • Tea tasting with our handmade cookies at Le Chalet de Bois Chéri

Step 5 - 12:00 noon

  • Lunch at the Bois Chéri Restaurant

Step 2 - 9.20 a.m.

  • Meet your guide for the day

  • Departure for the tea fields and learning about the history of Bois Chéri tea

  • Introduction to tea picking

  • Using your own basket, you will pick tea leaves alongside the pickers (duration: 20 min)
